You’re invited to the 12 Days of Covid Consciousmas – a series of virtual events designed to bring Covid Conscious folks together for the holidays for celebration, connection, and community!

Holidays are stressful enough, so we're aiming for the 12 Days of Covid Consciousmas to be completely stress-free. Although loosely inspired by winter holiday traditions, the 12 Days of Covid Consciousmas aren't about specific holidays or religious observances.

We've planned a variety of events to bring CC people together to explore common interests, share with and learn from each other, hold meaningful conversations, and build community to sustain us through the hoildays and beyond. You're welcome to join us for one event, or all, or anything in between. Zoom events have limited space, so if you RSVP to attend one and your plans change, please let us know in case we have a waitlist for the event.

All events are free of charge. Tips are welcomed but not expected. We'll provide details at each gathering for anyone who would like to support the folks making these events happen. There's no organization or initiative behind the 12 Days of Covid Consciousmas, just a group of Covid Conscious individuals who connected through social media, and want to make sure that peers in our community have virtual spaces to gather with good company for the holidays.

For Zoom events, you are welcome to join with your camera on or off, update your username to an alias if you prefer to participate privately, and exit whenever you need to leave. Our aim is for everyone to have a great time, feel at ease, and participate at their own level of comfort.

For movie watch parties (except for December 25th watch party), you can expect a low-key hangout without video or audio, just synchronized playback of the movie and a chat window.

Events will begin the week before Thanksiving (U.S.) and will continue through late December.

Night of 1,000 Cranes: An Evening of Remembrance

Sunday, December 14, 6 pm EST/5 PM CST/4 PM MST/3 PM PST

Senbazuru, the Japanese art of folding 1,000 origami cranes, is thought to carry a wish or a prayer up to the heavens. This evening is a safe space for those to grieve what they’ve lost throughout the enduring Covid-19 pandemic, as well as honor the memories of our loved ones and former selves.

We’ll write our wishes or prayers on paper, then learn how to fold them into cranes as a symbolic gesture of hope and healing.

Join us for a viewing of the classic holiday movie 'It's a Wonderful Life.' As George is about to jump from a bridge, he ends up rescuing his guardian angel, Clarence - who then shows George what his town would have looked like if it hadn't been for all his good deeds over the years.

As this movie is in the public domain, we'll stream it through Zoom and you won't need to be logged into a streaming service to watch.

We'll keep the Zoom meeting going for those who would like to hang out after the movie and chat.
